While I've had a lot of politically-themed things to say lately, I'm aware that it's not really everyone's cup of tea. flippin, Thirdmango and I have decided to create a webzine that will give me an outlet to say all of those sorts of things on. For those of you interested, you are invited to check out the Weorld Wide Worb. For those of you less interested, you are invited to stick around here and watch this neat video I found today:

Completely unrelated to your post, but I have a question--I'm looking for some good histories. Can you recommend any? I want something that will give me a good, in-depth knowledge of China, Japan, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe (or basically any country, really). I'm also looking for an overview of world history in general.
I'm hoping to find some books that will discuss not just prominent people or important events but also discuss things like linguistic shifts, architectural changes brought about by conquest, culinary changes brought by trade, etc.
This video is a real gem
Zach Condon: Boy Genius. What an amazing way to perform an amazing song.
